Stone after stone, rock after stone I started to think it was difficult to get to what was the peak of the entire dinosaur display. At that point I heard it. Delicately from the outset, however with my pace starting to animate, the commotion turned out to be increasingly more intensified. It was the compelling puncturing thunder of the genuine lord of the wilderness, T-Rex. So, let us find out!Grant Cardone is an American real estate investor, who managed to fight his way up the top real estate people ladder and become one of the most successful an d known people in the field. He did it with hard work and a lot of commitment, which, of course, wasn’t a pet walk, and oh boy, he still managed to pull through and live his dream.Early LifeGrant Cardone was born on March 21, 1958, in the state of Louisiana, where he lived with his mother and father. His father has always taught him to be hard-working and to value family above everything else in life because eventually, love of the people close to you is what really matters. To Grant, his father was the role model, the person who he glorified and respected above everyone else, which already tells us what kind of person Grand Cardone is.When he was 10-year-old, his father suddenly passed away due to heart attack and because of that, their happy lifestyle vanished as well, because his father was the person who provided for his family by himself and his mother was not the same after the tragedy. She started to live in constant fear of losing everything they had; no matter how little it w as at some point, so she had been focusing more on saving the money than earning additional income. As for Grant himself, he was also very struck with by his father’s death, because he lost the most important person who guided him that far, and it is never easy for boys to grow up without their fathers because, no matter how good parent mother is, there are some things that boys could only learn from the male figure. That said, without a person to guide him through life, Grant had some problems with the police and law, as well as with drugs. We can say that at some point in his life, he was in a very rebellious state of mind, to say at least.During his college years, his drug addiction became really bad and he himself said that every day he would wake up and decide not to use it, but after just several minutes, he would change his mind and take the drugs anyway.Because of that, he hung out with some very bad people and eventually got into a big fight and was almost killed. His face a nd body were so deformed that even his own mother wasn’t able to identify him.At the age of 25, he finally admitted to himself that he needed to get professional help, so he went and completed the treatment. After that, he promised to himself that he would get better and completely change his life upside down.He started working jobs he didn’t quite enjoy, mostly sales, more specifically selling the cars, because he wanted to experience the feeling of doing jobs he didn’t like, so when he really finds something he enjoys, he could turn around and say how he managed to live through the worst of the worst.Professional LifeAs we have mentioned, Grant did go to college, managed to graduate with a Bachelor degree in Accounting, after which he started working as a salesman, because he never truly liked being an accountant.Since he hated the car sales job, he was determined to save all the money he had been earning and eventually he managed to save a large amount of money to invest in real estate business, which is the field for which he became really famous. After he has already gotten a lot of success, he started to do some additional things. He started to write books, organize meetings and sales training, since he was one of the top 5% of the car salesman at the time, so he had enough experience in that regard.Right now, at the age of 60, Cardone is one of the most popular and internationally acclaimed sales trainers out there, with several Fortune 500 businesses, a lot of small firms and individual entrepreneurs in his pocket. His books “The 10X Rule” and “If You’re Not First, You’re Last” became one of the most selling books about how to achieve great success in real estate business.Apart from that, he has managed to build a huge real estate empire, with a total worth of around $900 million. His main business, Cardone Capital, is tasked with covering a lot of properties across the entire United States, with the total worth of transaction of around $8 00 million. So, let us examine what real estate strategies did he use and how do they work.HOW DOES IT WORK?The main reasons Grant Cardone is so interested in investing in a real estate business is because of the specific nature of the real estate market and its ability to be much more stable when it comes to evaluating the property when we compare it to the very volatile nature of the equity market and cash flow in general. It is like that because real estate market offers some benefits that come in different forms, like the rent, amortization of the property, tax policy that includes depreciation and the possibility to leverage your sales, in which case it is possible to get the property cheaper and sell it for a much higher price. The way it works is that Cardone’s organization raises the money from the people by having public equity funds that are used in a way where individual investors could buy shares or even units. Then, all the money that was collected goes the same way and i s used to buy certain properties that look promising and which could possibly be sold to generate additional income. All the earnings are then distributed amongst all investors and they usually choose to get paid on monthly basis through the dividend options. As for the purposes of maintaining those properties, Grant Cardone offers complete liberty to the investors when it comes to that topic. He himself manages everything regarding the maintenance, which is very useful to the individual investors, because they could just not think about that and focus on getting that monthly income from their investments, without losing the focus on their main jobs. That fact can be used to build up your own wealth in a long term, without having to quit your current job and doing the investment on the sides, which is very important for the people who don’t want to leave their main jobs and just focus on the real estate investments.WHAT CAN WE LEARN FROM GRANT CARDONE?Now that we have explained in sho rt how Grant Cardone’s formula works, let us get into the real thing by analyzing it with more depth.1. Real Estate Investment as Side BusinessThe very first thing we have to notice here is that Grant Cardone didn’t start doing this job by fully focusing on it and putting it as his main business.Instead, he did it on a side, slowly building it over time and growing it to become a massive real estate empire.Cardone decides to get into real estate investment because he wanted to get some additional income for himself and his main business, which was the sales consulting company. One funny thing that happened was an interview he had with the Bigger Pockets Podcast, where he had explained how “broke” he was every time he would come to get some amount of money because he would immediately have to put that money into his real estate business. He did say that those companies he invested the money did prove to be very lucrative and got him a lot of money, but still, he said that no ma tter how much money they bring back, there is always something else to invest in, so he would always end up broke either way.In the end, he does admit that without his real estate investment, he wouldn’t be able to preserve some of his other businesses, because they wouldn’t be enough to provide enough money to suffice themselves.2. Start Early to Learn About Real Estate InvestmentGrant Cardone claims that if you want to be in a real estate sector, you have to start as early as possible, so you could learn everything you need to know about it, in order to become very successful real estate investor. He says that, even though he had graduated and got his Bachelor degree in Accounting, he actually did not learn anything useful about real estate investment during his college years, but only through practical work in the sector. Before his father had passed away, they would go around the neighborhood together and look for promising properties they could get and get a nice return on in vestment.Even after his father died, he continued doing the same and managed to learn how to get a good deal on a certain property. He learned from different real estate agents and got the basic knowledge of how net operating income works. One very interesting thing is that he says he has never read a book about real estate investing at all, and that he has learned everything through practical experience on the field. That allowed him to meet a lot of people, both influential and regular, to learn how they think, how to act in front of different types of people and how to eventually close lucrative deals.3. Acquiring Your First PropertyWhen you are starting any business, it is important that you are very careful about anything, especially what to do and how to do it.In real estate business, it is very important to start good, so you would have to choose your first investment carefully, so you wouldn’t waste all the money you have saved in order to start the business.Apart from that, it could take you a lot of time to save some money to even begin with, in case you don’t already have some savings before you decide to enter real estate business.Grant Cardone started his very own real estate business at the age of 29 when he was sure he learned enough about it and saved enough money to invest in the type of property he wanted. His first investment was a house fit for a single family in Houston. It turned out to be very lucrative at first, but when the tenants decided to leave, he had a hard time to find new people, because he also had to work his main job and he didn’t want to waste too much time on proper searching. Before he lost all the money he invested, he decided to sell the house and promised to himself never to buy the same type of property ever again.4. Don’t Rush to Expand Your Portfolio too FastPeople have always wanted to have a lot of money and to get rich as fast as possible, but that is not how business works.Even in real estate investment busin ess, it is not recommended to try to rush things and earn money as fast as possible.Instead, what you should do is monitor the real estate market and try to take advantages of some positive situations. That way, you could really strike some lucrative deals, depending on the actual demand for certain types of properties. After his first experience with single family house, Grant Cardone didn’t jump right into the train to get a new property. Instead, he waited for several years to get another property for himself. He managed to get more money to invest and learned a lot more than he had previously known during that time period. His second investment was a property suited for not just a single family, but for more people. It was seated in San Diego and it cost him $1.9 million. It might sound too much, but he did manage to reduce the price for around $350,000.He got his next property just a month later.Over time, he managed to get more and more properties and in 2012 he managed to get re cognized as the person who had the largest private portfolio in Florida, with over a thousand complexes with the total worth of around $58 million.5. Financing Your BusinessIn order for you to become a successful investor, you would have to have a very stable source of income to finance your business. So, let us see what Grant Cardone did when it comes to financing his real estate empire because as you might have guessed, he needs a lot of money to do this.During an interview with Joe Fairless, in March 2015, Grant Cardone was invited to talk about the topic of the best real estate investing advice.Cardone said that only 2% of his entire portfolio is in the hands of external partners, out of which 99% of them are his close friends or members of his family. What he claims, is that the majority of his business is financed by his own money, through Cardone’s Capital and traditionally by using bank loans. This is a very important thing to notice because it shows us how crucial it is to h ave a business that is self-sustaining or supported by your other businesses if you have them. That way you would be able to evade the huge debts and focus on expanding your real estate business.WHAT IS THE PROBLEM WITH GRANT CARDONES METHOD?Now that we have gone over the lessons Grant Cardone taught us, let us examine some negative aspects of his method and value the opinions of other people who don’t think Cardone’s method could be useful to everyone, but only to the people who already got some capital to invest into the real estate business. Those people claim that Grant Cardone’s method is not friendly towards ‘No Money Down’ type of investing, which is basically true if we consider all the facts stated in this text.Ben Leybovich and a couple of others says that no one can say that Cardone’s method doesn’t work at all, since there are a lot of positive examples, but they do say that a lot of people who would want to start their business in real estate investment simp ly doesn’t have enough money to apply Cardone’s method.Grant’s Opinion About ‘No Money Down’?Grant Cardone, and the people who think the same as he does, claim that ‘No Money Down’ is not a true way of investing, because real investing should be done differently. He believes the continuous investment of capital is the most important attribute of what the word investment actually means. And there is not much to argue about it since there are a lot of examples of how a large number of successful investors managed to succeed by using Cardone’s method to get rich. Those people applied the following formula:First, they would start some business they like; Then, they would grow and expand that business, so it would grant them a large amount of money; And lastly, they would use that money, to buy some property which looks promising in the matter of being potentially profitable. That is done because money itself is taxed very highly, while some forms of property are taxed much lo wer so you would save a lot of money and have stable cash flow at the same time.IS THERE AN ALTERNATIVE TO CARDONES METHOD?Now, that all looks nice and shiny, but the statistics say that perhaps 1 in a 1000 people who use Cardone’s method actually succeed in their intentions, because it is not easy to do that and not everyone is capable of creating the successful business, because they either don’t have enough money, to begin with or they simply lack the knowledge required for it.That’s why those people are looking for an alternative, which is ‘No Money Down’ method, which is very useful and helpful to a lot of people.Real estate investing doesn’t require you to be a genius, but rather know some basic things about it.If you would want to learn a bit more about ‘No Money Down’ method and how you could use it to start your own real estate adventure, check this podcast of Ben Leybovich, where he explains how to use this method to become a successful real estate investor and get enough money to perhaps apply Cardone’s method and become a multimillionaire. FINAL WORDThat would be all folks! We have gone over everything that you need to know about how Grant Cardone managed to amass his wealth and what tips he has to offer to all of you who want to try becoming successful real estate investors and get rich.It requires a lot of hard work and personal commitment, but eventually, it could pay off and you could end up living your dream, instead of being stuck in a lousy job that you hate and do only because you need to pay the bills month after month.

William Shakespeare s Romeo And Juliet - 941 Words

Baptiste Saez, Leo Cao English 9 Period 6 16 February, 2017 Who’s Responsible? Originating from Latin America, the name Tybalt signifies â€Å"he who sees.† However, in the play, Tybalt fails to see how his actions lead to conflicts and ultimately the downfall of certain characters. Being part of the Capulet family, which is one of the most powerful families in Verona, Tybalt has a close relationship with Juliet and also loathes all the Montagues, for the Montagues are the rivals of the Capulets. Tybalt, throughout the story, tries to fight the Montagues, which sometimes result to unfortunate events. At the end of the story, Romeo decides to commit suicide when he is made to believe that Juliet is dead, but Juliet awakens from her made up†¦show more content†¦At the party, Tybalt spots Romeo and directly goes to tell his uncle about the presences of their enemy at their party. Lord Capulet was also speaking with his guests as Tybalt is talking to him. During the conversion, Tybalt argues, â€Å"Uncle, this is a Montagu e, our foe,/A villain, that is hitcher come in spire† (1,5,59-61). Once again, this is additional evidence that Tybalt hates the Montagues. Instead, this time, he calls Romeo, directly, a villain. He tries to tell the lord that Romeo will only cause trouble, which in some ways was a foreshadowing, for the introduction of Romeo in Juliet’s life causes the Capulet family to be disrupted, and Romeo will indeed cause trouble for the Capulets. Another reason why Tybalt is the main reason that leads to Romeo and Juliet’s tragedy is his aggressive and violent nature. Before the duel, Benvolio, Mercutio, and Romeo laze around Verona. Tybalt arrives, insults Romeo and challenges him to a fight. Tybalt invites Romeo to fight him and triggers the unfortunate events that lead to the tragedy of Romeo and Juliet when he responds to Romeo, â€Å"Romeo: Tybalt, the reason that I have to love thee/Doth much excuse the appertaining rage/To such a greeting: villain am I none; Ther efore farewell; I see thou know st me not./Tybalt: Boy, this shall not excuse the injuries/That thou hast done me; therefore turn and draw†(3.1.60-65). Sandlot Essays - Baseball Films, 20th Century Fox Films, Sandlot

Sandlot Sandlot a vacant lot especially used for unorganized sports. It was a place during my childhood years where I could go and not have a worry on my mind, except being with my best friends and playing some sandlot ball. A place where the memories of endless fun and games took place, between my friends and I. I still hear the voices of neighbors yelling at us to go home because of the tennis balls we hit against their walls and windows. The sandlot was better than Turner Field to us. Nothing could compare to all the times we had there. It was a small field in between two apartment complexes. The spray painted lines we drew, the worn out rug squares we used as bases, the home plate we made out of wood and painted white were all the things we could do to make this old field our baseball park. But during our endless games we sure felt like we were playing on a real field. The rules aren't exactly like baseball, although things were very similar. Day after day we never chose a winner. We just played to satisfy our love for the game, not for bragging rights. Our games could be played with just four people and sometimes we had games that were nine on nine, just like the pros. Every morning I knew the call to meet at the lot was coming. By the time we all met up, we were all ready to play. Making teams was always a hassle because everyone always wanted to be on Tommy's team. So, we all took turns being on his team and his team usually won. Taking slides into the run-down grass around the bases, even getting cuts from the pebbles we missed picking up were all part of the lot. And every time a foot stomped on home plate, it was a reminder that the sandlot was ours. By the time lunch time came around we would be covered in sweat and ready to jump in the pool to cool off. Then we would always have a pizza delivered to the pool, it was kind of a tradition during the summer. After a nice long rest there we were back on the lot continuing our games as if we had nowhere to go. As dusk starts to roll in we still played until one of us was nailed by a screaming line drive in the head because it was too dark to see. Usually our game-ending announcement was my friend's mom, when I could hear her screaming his name to come home. That was the cue the game was over for the day. Soon it was just Tommy and I around and we are always the last to leave. Knowing tomorrow we all would be back to play again and again. As I reminisce back on the sandlot, I think back to the days when I had the most fun. Every day was like a new adventure to be conquered by my friends and I. The lot after a couple of years was moved down the road to a new location, by a new group of children in my old neighborhood. They too, had done a nice job taking care of the field, as I go back to take another look at what my friends and I had originally started. As I see the kids play today, I am reminded of the times when we were all children and carefree. With not a single worry on our little minds except what new toys to buy, the sandlot my home away from home as a kid.

Schindlers list essays

Schindler's list essays The movie Schindlers List touched me in many ways. I didnt realize the extent of the horror that the Jews faced. The thought that someone could come and barge in to my house and take all my belongings scares me. I now feel more sympathy than ever for the Jews who had to suffer through this horrible ordeal. The girl in the red dress really touched me, and I think it was the turning point for Schindler to start his factory of Jews when he saw her at the crematorium. The fact that she was the only person in color made it obvious that she played in important role in the faith of the Jews. Schindler first sees her as an innocent young girl walking along the streets of the ghetto. He later spots her body being wheeled off to be burned. The young girl in the red dress symbolizes the hope the Jews had. In the beginning of the movie, the Jews hope was pretty high, and most people expected to be freed sooner or later. As things became progressively worse, the hope for any liberation went down, and all hope died as the girl in the red dress was being carried to be burned. Schindler notices this, and he then takes the initiative to change the situation by hiring Jews as ammunition factory workers. Also, her death can be viewed as the most angelic and innocent child suffering the wrath of the co ncentration camps. I also liked how Schindler changes during the movie. He starts out as a Nazi party member, who enjoyed partying and spending time with women. As he witnesses the horrible things being done to the Jews, he realizes that he needs to make some efforts to save at least some of the Jews. Since he had already developed a relationship with many of his employees (the Jews), Schindler was able to feel the harshness much more than any other German. I admire his skills and determination that help him do what he needs to do to get the job done. Even if it included bribes, Schindler was bent upon keeping the Jews from being ...

Formulas of Ionic Compounds

Formulas of Ionic Compounds Ionic compounds form when positive and negative ions share electrons and form an ionic bond. The strong attraction between positive and negative ions often produce  crystalline solids that have high melting points. Ionic bonds form instead of covalent bonds when there is a large difference in electronegativity between the ions. The positive ion, called a cation, is listed first in an ionic compound formula, followed by the negative ion, called an anion. A balanced formula has a neutral electrical charge or net charge of zero. Determining the Formula of an Ionic Compound A stable ionic compound is electrically neutral, where electrons are shared between cations and anions to complete outer electron shells or octets. You know you have the correct formula for an ionic compound when the positive and negative charges on the ions are the same or cancel each other out. Here are the steps for writing and balancing the formula: Identify the cation ( the portion with a positive charge). It is the least electronegative (most electropositive) ion. Cations include metals and they are often located on the left-hand side of the periodic table.Identify the anion ( the portion with a negative charge). It is the most electronegative ion. Anions include halogens and nonmetals. Keep in mind, hydrogen can go either way, carrying either a positive or negative charge.Write the cation first, followed by the anion.Adjust the subscripts of the cation and anion so the net charge is 0. Write the formula using the smallest whole number ratio between the cation and anion to balance charge. If the charges of the cation and anion are equal (e.g., 1/-1, 2/-2, 3/-3), then combine the cation and anion in a 1:1 ratio. An example is potassium chloride, KCl. Potassium (K) has a 1- charge, while chlorine (Cl-) has a 1- charge. Note that you do not ever write a subscript of 1.If the charges on the cation and the anion are not equal, add subscripts as needed to the ions to balance the charge. The total charge for each ion is the subscript multiplied by the charge. Adjust the subscripts to balance charge. An example is sodium carbonate, Na2CO3. The sodium ion has a 1 charge, multiplied by the subscript 2 to get a total charge of 2. The carbonate anion (CO3-2) has a 2- charge, so there is no additional subscript. If you need to add a subscript to a polyatomic ion, enclose it in parentheses so it is clear the subscript applies to the entire ion and not to an individual atom. An example is aluminum sulfate, Al2(SO4)3. The parenthesis around the sulfate anion indicates three of the 2- sulfate ions are needed to balance 2 of the 3 charged aluminum cations. Examples of Ionic Compounds Many familiar chemicals are ionic compounds. A metal bonded to a nonmetal is a dead giveaway that youre dealing with an ionic compound. Examples include salts, such as table salt (sodium chloride or NaCl) and copper sulfate (CuSO4). Compound Name Formula Cation Anion lithium fluoride LiF Li+ F- sodium chloride NaCl Na+ Cl- calcium chloride CaCl2 Ca2+ Cl- iron(II) oxide FeO Fe2+ O2- aluminum sulfide Al2S3 Al3+ S2- iron(III) sulfate Fe2(SO3)3 Fe3+ SO32- Ionic Compound Formulas

National debt with regards to taxes Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1250 words

National debt with regards to taxes - Essay Example Therefore, whenever the national debt is high, there is a likelihood that the citizenry will be affected, since the available national resources could not be sufficient to cover for all the government payments in form of the interest rates that it must pay periodically to the creditors (Boccia, 2013). The consequence is that; the taxes that are collected from the citizenry must then be increased, so that there is enough money to cover for the payment of the interest in the debts that the government owes different creditors. Therefore, while there could be less awareness in relation to the impacts of the national debts on the citizenry to the public, the truth is that the effect of the national debt must be felt by all. Thus, the effects of National debt include: The National debt affects the tax rates that are charged on the common citizens, as well as the private sector through the licensing and other legal requirements that business are required to have. Whenever the National debt is high, the government has to seek for a way to increase the available revenue so that it can be able to meet the debt obligations in form of interest payments that must be made every single financial period (Faulhaber, 2010). Consequently, when the government is unable to meet the interest obligations from the already collected tax revenues, the government turns to the public for more money through raising the tax rates that the public must pay on various essential products and services. The increased taxation on the other hand becomes a financial burden for the common citizens, considering that they are now getting less value for their money. When the rate of taxation has increased, the prices of goods and services that the common citizens consume goes high, which in turn means that the value for their money has now significantly reduced (Boccia, 2013). The increased taxation does not only affect the common citizens, but also businesses, considering that their profitability will be reduced, while the costs of operations will keep increasing. The consequence is that, National debt increases the tax burden on both citizens and businesses, making it hard for businesses to grow, while reducing the purchasing power of the public (Agonist Learning Center, 2009). The net effect is that, investments will not perform well in the situation where the national debt is high. Further, National debt affects the interest in the sense that, the national banks continuously keeps track of the national debt as they are continuously served with such information from the central bank. The relationship between the central bank and the other commercial banks is that; the central bank is the key determinant of the interest rates that the commercial banks will charge on loans and mortgages issued to the banks’ customers (Faulhaber, 2010). Therefore, when the national debt increases, there is a need for more money that is used to cover for the increased interest rates that the government must pay to the creditors. Consequently, the central bank raises the interest rates, which are then increased by the commercial banks in similar proportions (Boccia, 2013). Therefore, the increased national debt serves to increase the

Gender and Educational Achievement Case Study Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 2500 words

Gender and Educational Achievement - Case Study Example The discussion here will bring out the sociological reasons to show why girls in recent years have performed better than boys in typical school curriculum. Many studies and surveys on school performance have showed a correlation between gender and achievement. A study by Hubbard (2005) has been based on a survey involving 30 successful African American high school students. The gender based experiences and results defy traditional patterns of educational underachievement associated with a minority group and challenge the notion that minority students show a resistance to schooling. However the study indicated gender based variations in strategies and college aspirations as well as methods of gaining success suggesting variations on the basis of ethnicity and gender especially in the context of diverse American population. Peer interactions, school practices and community experiences are crucial in shaping educational outcomes of individuals although gender forms the central factor in determining achievement. Hubbard (2005) suggests that intertwining of school, family and community cultures construct attitudes dependent on gender and beliefs. Despite the sharing of common racial or class identity, gender variations ca mediate and change pe rceptions and behavior and this is reflected in social situation inside and outside school. In a related study Demie (2001) suggested that raising levels of achievement among students would be vital element of any school improvement focus. The extent and reasons of underachievement have been examined here and the statistical trends and patterns of performance are also analyzed to show whether gender ad ethnic factors play a role in academic achievement. The differences in attainment according to Demie are largely related to gender and ethnicity and could have implications for school improvement and general level of performance of students as well. However as Demie argues, there could be no simple explanation for ethnic or gender differences in educational achievement as ethnic heritage would not presuppose any kind of underachievement or higher achievements in any field. Studies have indicated that certain ethnic minority groups like the Asians, Indians and Chinese have levels of achievement above the white population whereas the Caribbean, Portuguese and Africans would be underachievers and achievement is considered as largely dependent on language skills, levels of English and gender differences as well. Better English speakers or people with advanced levels of knowledge in English would naturally perform better and Demie's study (2001) indicated that no matter what the origin of pupils is, girls always tend to perform better and at higher levels than boys in key stages and programs. However apart from gender there may be other factors that seem to have an influence on performance and could be understood by focusing on contextual analysis and analysis of factors that affect educational achievement. The teachers' perceptions on how gender identity seems to impact achievement have been studied by several researchers and Jones and Myhill (2004) carried out a similar study to understand the impact of gender on achievement. They

Lorraine Hansberrys A Raisin In The Sun :: Essays Papers

A Raisin In The Sun "A Raisin in the Sun" was written by Lorraine Hansberry. It has won her an award in 1959, at age 29, the youngest American, the fifth woman, and the black playwright to win the Best Play of the Year Award of the New York Drama Critics. This book of the play has been put in its entire form. The original play did not include some scenes. This book has been an inspiration to a lot people. In my personal opinion, the central message is to show how the value systems of black families are. In some ways they are unique, but most ways are exactly the same as white families. In most white and black families, God is the center and heart of the family. An example of how strong an influence on families is when Beneatha and Lena argue about God's existence. "Beneatha: Mama, you don't understand. It's all a matter of ideas, and God is just one idea I don't accept. It's not important. I am not going out and be immoral or commit crimes because I don't believe in God. I don't even think about it. It's just that I get tired of Him getting credit for all the things the human race achieves through its own stubborn effort. There simply is no blasted God-there is only man and it is he who makes miracles!" After Beneatha had finished her argument, Lena slapped her across her face and made Beneatha say, "In my mother's house there is still God". Lena stressed out her points that she will not tolerate any ideas like that in her house, or as long as she's around. Black families have a huge sense of pride of where they come from. For example, Asagai always talked about Africa and how it will be good for him if he goes there. He even asked Beneatha if she would go with him. ''Asagai: Nigeria. Home. (Coming to her with genuine romantic flippancy) I will show you our mountains and our stars; and nice you cool drinks from gourds and teach you the old songs and the ways of our people-and, in time, we will pretend that- (Very Softly)-you have only been away for a day. Say that you'll come- (He swings her around and takes her full in his arms in a kiss which proceeds to passion)"

What You Eat Is Your Business Radley Balko Summary

In his article â€Å"What You Eat Is Your Business,† Radley Balko argues that the way the government is spending a lot of money for anti obesity measure is the wrong way to prevent obesity. Balko suggests that the people need to responsibility on their own health matter. He thinks the best way to slow down the public health is to include obesity in our private matter, which means having people pay for their own medical needs because he believes that it would force people to face the consequences and to make them more responsible.I agree with Balko’s position because people tend to be less responsible for them when they are not the one paying for their prices, but what they don’t know, is soon they will be paying the price no one can offer to help. Balko stated at the end of his article,† We’ll all make better choices about diet, exercise, and personal health when someone else isn’t paying for the consequences of those choices. I strongly agree with Balko because I do also believe that the only way to make to make people make better choices about their health is when someone isn’t paying for their consequences. My experience with this, people I know who are not under their parents insurance, they tend to watch what they eat and exercise daily to stay healthy. They know if something was to go wrong, they will have to pay their medical bills out of their own pocket. Those who I know that do have insurances, tend to careless of what they do and eat, because they someone else is paying for your consequences.

Difference Between Cognitive And Cognitive Psychology

Compare and Contrast two different approaches to Cognitive Psychology This essay will be focused on two different approaches to cognitive psychology: Cognitive Neuropsychology and Cognitive Neuroscience. Cognitive Neuropsychology is concerned with the patterns of cognitive performance and emphasis on the cognitive effects of brain-damaged patients who suffered lesions, injuries or diseases, providing vest information on normal human cognition. (Eysenck and Keane 2015, p.5) Whereas cognitive neuroscience involves in-depth study of our brain and behaviours. As the brain contains numerous neurones and is so complicated, the cognitive neuroscience emphasis on the biological side of the brain and focuses on the lobes that are divided from the cerebral cortex. The main similarity of cognitive neuropsychology and cognitive neuroscience is that they are both interested in brain-damaged patients and believe that different areas of the brain are highly specialised. For example, one of the main theoretical assumptions of cognitive neuropsychology states ‘modularity’, which means the modules in the cognitive system function independently, or separately of each other. (Eysenck and Keane 2015, p.6) In addition, it is also explained that these modules do show ‘domain specificity’, meaning the modules responds only to the specific kinds of stimuli but not the others. Compare to cognitive neuroscience, it is believed that ‘modules’, as well as ‘hubs’ are associated with high-levelShow MoreRelatedPerspectives On Psychology And Evaluate Their Key Assumptions1547 Words   |  7 PagesPerspectives in Psychology This essay will give detailed descriptions of the behaviourist and cognitive perspectives in psychology and evaluate their key assumptions.
